Define one useful promise for the episode

Write a one-sentence outcome for the audience. Decide who the episode is for and what they should understand or do after listening. A clear promise makes it easier to choose guests, remove unrelated questions and select a useful title. Avoid turning the episode into a catalogue of services.

  • Describe the target audience and their main question.
  • Choose a practical theme rather than several competing topics.
  • Write the opening question and the closing call to action.

Prepare guests without scripting every answer

Send a short outline before the recording. Explain the format, expected conversation length and topics that need preparation. Ask for the correct spelling of names, roles and company references. Agree permission to record and publish, especially when the discussion involves a client, an employer or sensitive information.

  • Share arrival time, studio location and a production contact.
  • Ask guests to avoid noisy jewellery and clothing that interferes with microphones.
  • Confirm any topics or confidential information that must stay out of the recording.

Confirm the recording setup

Tell the studio how many people will speak and how the recording will be used. Confirm microphones, separate audio tracks, camera angles, lighting and the room conditions. A studio booking does not automatically include every item of equipment. Ask for a short sound check before the main conversation starts.

  • Agree microphone count and how the audio will be captured.
  • Check whether you need one camera or several angles.
  • Confirm who operates the equipment and monitors the recording.

Build a realistic recording schedule

Reserve time for preparation, framing, microphone checks, a test recording and short breaks. A one-hour finished episode needs more than one hour on the schedule. In Dhaka, plan travel with enough flexibility to protect the start of the session and avoid rushing your guests into recording.

  • Share the preferred session length and number of episodes.
  • Decide whether episodes will be recorded separately or in a batch.
  • Confirm the available slot with the team before arranging guest travel.

Design the final outputs before recording

Agree the full episode length, the number of short clips and where each output will be published. Ask for aspect ratios, captions, title graphics and the delivery format you need. Planning clips before the session helps the editor find clear, self-contained moments rather than cutting random fragments afterward.

  • Choose landscape, vertical or square formats for each channel.
  • Provide brand fonts, colours, logos and pronunciation notes.
  • Agree revision rounds, file handover and a delivery deadline.

Check the final episode before publishing

Review names, subtitles, audio levels and factual claims. Listen on headphones and a phone speaker, and inspect the opening minute on mobile. Confirm the guest’s publication permission and remove any confidential information. Keep a copy of approved assets so later clips remain consistent with the final episode.

  • Check that descriptions and links point to the correct destination.
  • Include a clear next step that fits the conversation.
  • Measure relevant audience response rather than judging every episode by views alone.

Bring your checklist into the booking conversation.

Tell us your preferred date, content format and the equipment or editing you want to discuss.
